Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 vs Moto M comparison
In this blog post, I would be doing a comparison of Motorola Moto M and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 i.e doing a Moto M vs Redmi Note 3 comparison.
I like Motorola phones in general, for the vanilla android, better camera performance, great and fast updates to their software, a great after sales service (at least, I had good experience with the after sales team), and robust phone builds. Motorola phones have sometimes been reported to have heating issues, though.
Xiaomi phones, on the other hand, are budget phones giving me value for money, an above average camera, no heating issues that I have experienced as yet, a great performance and well, good frequent updates to their OS. Whereas Moto M comes at a price of Rs 18,000, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is priced at around Rs 11,500. So there is a good money difference between the two. Money does matter, or else you would not have been reading this article.
Let us spend some time taking a look at the differences between the two smartphones and which one is better. Moto M has 8MP front selfie camera as compared to 5MP Redmi Note 3 front camera.
If we compare the processor, well Moto M is surely a winner here. With 2.2GHz Octa-core MTK Helio P15 64 bit processor, Moto M exhibits more power as compared to Redmi Note 3 which has 1.8 GHz Hexa-core Qualcomm MSM8956 Snapdragon 650 processor. More cores mean more tasks can be performed by the processor simultaneously and thus a faster and smoother mobile UI experience. With processor clocked at 2.2GHz, Mto M appears to be a winner here as well.
Take a look at the battery. Here Xiaomi has certainly taken a lead. With 4050 mAH, Redmi Note 3 ha s a full 32% more battery capacity as compared to Moto M. With some heating issues and a smaller battery capacity, Moto M appears to be lagging in the race here.
Now, let us take a look at RAM. Motorola has packed 4GB RAM in their phone as compared to Redmi Note 3. Moto M with its more RAM availability gives a more smooth and faster device.
Both the phones have equal weight with Moto M weighing around 163 gms and Redmi Note 3 weighing around 164 gms. Both the phones have 5.5 inches, 1920×1080 pixels screen display, i.e about 401 ppi screen resolution. So display wise, the two phones appear identical without much of a difference. However, Moto M is somewhat slimmer at 7.85 mm as compared to Redmi Note 3 at 8.69 mm. So if you prefer a slimmer phone that is easier to carry and fits in your pocket nicely, then Moto M is the phone to go for.
Moto M comes with a hybrid slot with an internal memory of 64 GB memory expandable up to 128 GB and a 4 GB RAM allowing you to store more videos, songs, and photos. Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 on the other hand, comes with 32 GB internal memory and 3 GB RAM.
Some other differences that you may like to know are, while Moto M runs on Android marshmallow v 6.01, Redmi runs on the old Lollipop OS. Moto M is a waterproof device, while Redmi Note 3 is not.
So if you are a person who is searching for a phone with good camera. go for Moto M, but performance wise Redmi Note 3 is still a good buy, even after 1 year of its launch. Gaming and UI experience is smooth in Redmi Note 3. Battery performance has always been a problem with Moto devices. So if you want performance and don’t mind taking average selfies, then Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 is the phone to go for.
